Oliver’s Drop: March

Spring Into Style

The shift from winter to spring is all about renewal—lighter layers, brighter flavors, and a fresh perspective on how we live and entertain. This month’s Drop is all about effortless style, whether you’re shaking up a cocktail, hosting friends, or making the most of transitional spaces at home. Let’s step into the season with sophistication, spontaneity, and a touch of springtime ease.

Sip in Style: The Provence 75

My twist on the classic French 75, the Provence 75 celebrates the effervescence of spring with a touch of lavender. Inspired by the expert bartenders at Death & Co in NYC, this version uses a lavender-infused simple syrup to add a floral elegance that balances the bright citrus and crisp bubbles. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients for one cocktail:

  • 1 oz gin

  • ½ oz lavender simple syrup (made by simmering equal parts sugar, water, and dried lavender)

  • ½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • Chilled prosecco

  • Lemon twist for garnish

Shake gin, lemon juice, and lavender syrup with ice, strain into a flute, and top with prosecco. Garnish with a lemon twist and sip your way into spring. Watch the how-to reel here.

Easy & Elegant: Entertaining with Style

Spring calls for casual, yet refined, gatherings—think small bites, easy wine pairings, and conversation flowing as effortlessly as the cocktails. One of my favorite go-to dishes? Sheet Pan Focaccia Pizza. This recipe layers a golden, crisp-edged focaccia base with creamy béchamel, sautéed shiitake mushrooms, fresh grape tomatoes, and a sprinkle of parsley. It’s upscale, adaptable, and perfect for hosting or bringing along when you want to be the best guest. Watch the how-to here.

Pair with a Provence 75 or a light, chilled red, and you’ve got the perfect spring soirée starter.

Style Your Space for Spring

As the days get longer, transitional spaces—sunrooms, patios, and indoor-outdoor living areas—become prime spots for unwinding. This season, design is all about natural textures, airy palettes, and subtle curves that create a soft, inviting aesthetic. Think linen drapes, light wood finishes, and statement vases filled with fresh greenery.

For inspiration, I’ve rounded up some of Atlanta’s most stunning homes featuring seamless indoor-outdoor living. Whether you’re in the market or just gathering ideas, these homes set the tone for stylish spring living.

Coastal Cool: Chic Getaways a Drive Away

Spring is the perfect time for a stylish escape, and these coastal towns offer the ultimate blend of charm, design, and culinary excellence:

  • Charleston, SC: Stop by Leon’s Oyster Shop for their famous Frozen G&T, indulge in fresh seafood at The Ordinary, and wind down with an espresso martini at Baba’s on Cannon.

  • Savannah, GA: Kick off the evening at the stunning Artillery cocktail bar, then experience a meal at The Grey, where Chef Mashama Bailey’s flavors are just as artful as the space.

  • Alys Beach, FL: Along the scenic 30A stretch, grab a bite at The Red Bar, enjoy a cocktail at The Citizen, and soak in the breezy ambiance at Gallion’s.
